Leaves are changing colors, the air is getting crisp, the coffee is warm, and Central Wisconsin is the place to be this fall.
Make sure to put on layers of clothes and get out to enjoy all the wonderful things about Autumn.
1.) Visit a corn maze and pumpkin patch
Trezebiatowski’s Farm & Corn Maze in Bancroft, WI is the perfect fall destination. There is a family-oriented corn maze, but also a haunted maze for thrill seekers. The farm offers a petting zoo, pig races, hayrides, and a pumpkin patch. It is sure to be a fun time!
2.) Schmeeckle Reserve
Located right by the UW-Stevens Point campus, this reserve offers an assortment of biking and hiking trails. There is also Lake Joanis where you can canoe and fish. Taking in the scenery at Schmeeckle is an activity in itself. Check it out!
3.) Visit an apple orchard
Between visiting Casey’s Apple Orchard in Stevens Point, or Christenson’s Apple Orchard in Waupaca, you are sure to have a good time. Pick yourself a bag of apples and take them home to enjoy making a wonderful apple dessert. I’ve heard through the grapevine that the caramel apples at Casey’s are not to be missed.
4.) Go on a hayride
As I mentioned previously, Tresebiatowski’s has a hay ride on site. However, Halloween Happenings on Hwy 66 in Stevens Point offers a haunted hayride. Hayrides are such a fun fall activity, go with some friends or the family and enjoy the time together.
5.) Warm up with some coffee or hot apple cider
Central Wisconsin has a plethora of local coffee shops. My personal favorite is getting a pumpkin spice latte from The Coffee Studio in Stevens Point this time of year. However, check out the Cronies Café & Espresso Bar in Waupaca, or the Morning Star Coffee & Bistro in Amherst.
Take the time out of your busy schedule and go out and enjoy one or all of these activities. Even if you just get in the car and take a drive through the country. Roll down your windows, and enjoy the fresh air as you take in the array of colors that fall has to offer.
