One of our current non-profit partners is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Wisconsin. This organization is a vital part of the Central Wisconsin community and provides this area with a wonderful service. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a mentoring program that provides supportive one-on-one relationships to local youth. Youth mentoring can create positive relationships and change a child’s life forever.
Every February, BBBS of Central Wisconsin hosts the “Bowl for Kid’s Sake” event at a local bowling alley. Area businesses and community members put teams together and help sponsor this event. The funds that are raised help support and keep BBBS active within the community. This year’s theme is “superhero’s” which is very fitting. Donating to this wonderful cause will allow you to be a “superhero” to a child. This year the event will be held at Skipp’s Bowling Center on February 21st and 22nd in Stevens Point.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Wisconsin is looking to raise $50,000 this year. The “Bowl for Kid’s Sake” event is their biggest fundraiser of the year and they rely on the proceeds from this event. The weekend will be filled with fun and entertainment. There will be different contests and games going on during both days. There will also be a DJ there during the day and live music on Saturday night. If that wasn’t enough, there will also be a raffle going on.
It’s too late to register to bowl in this weekend’s event. However, you can still volunteer and donate to the event.
