The 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off was hosted in Iola last Friday and we had a wide variety of chili’s to sample. Eight participants competed in hopes of taking 1st place. Each of our participants chose a charity to represent with the hopes of winning a money donation for their charity.
To find out who won 1st place with the prize of $200 you can watch the video below.
As for the rest of our participants, tying for 2nd place with a prize of $75 goes to Brian Derus (One Small Drop) and Dennis Trebs (St. Adalbert Parish). In 3rd place, with a prize of $50 goes to the Kent Sykes (Wounded Warrior Project). The remaining four participants will receive $25 for their charities. Kelly Loken (Kayla Toelle Scholarship Fund), Laurie Haas Jakusz (Amherst Food Pantry), Laurie Stoltenberg (Family Crisis Center in Stevens Point), and Butch Pomroy (Tomorrow River Scholarship Foundation).
