Our blog will now feature a weekly golf tip from one of the numerous golfers in our offices. This week our tip comes from Phil Martin, co-owner and agent who mainly works out of the Amherst location of Community Insurance. Phil is an avid golfer and enjoys hitting the green whenever he can.
For Phil’s first golf tip, he thought he would debunk a popular golf myth.
“How many times as a golfer have you heard the phrase ‘keep your head down’? The correct advice is actually to keep your head still.”
This technique is demonstrated in this YouTube video posted on the Swing Surgeon’s channel. The Swing Surgeon is a Web site and blog run by Don Trahan, an American PGA Master Professional golf instructor.
The Swing Surgeon also wrote a blog post about keeping your head still until impact. According to the Swing Surgeon, “The key to better golf is less body and head movement because this will give us more consistency in hitting solid shots with greater accuracy and distance. Keep it vertical!”
You can find out more about keeping your head still by reading the full blog post, found here.
Do you have any golf tips that you swear by?
