Eating fresh fruits and vegetables is one of the best ways to stay healthy, but finding the freshest fruits and vegetables can sometimes be a challenge. Luckily, there are plenty of farmers markets throughout Central Wisconsin where you can buy fresh produce while supporting local farmers. It’s a win-win situation!
- The City of Waupaca’s Farmers Market is located downtown in the City Square. The market is open every day all summer, so it is super easy to swing by after work to pick up some fresh produce for dinner. Visit the market’s Facebook page for more information.
- The Farmer’s Market of Wausau features almost 50 vendors who sell anything from produce to cheese, baked goods to eggs, honey to fresh cut flowers, and more. The market is conveniently located one block west of the mall and is open from 7 a.m. until product is sold out. The market also has a Facebook page for more information.
- Visit the recently renovated Square in Stevens Point for the longest running farmers market in Wisconsin. The marketplace downtown has hosted a farmers market since 1847 and now features everything from fresh produce to syrup and honey. Saturday is the biggest market day, and vendors begin selling at 7:00 a.m. You can find more information on the market’s Web site.
Where’s your favorite farmers market? What are your favorite items to pick up at the market? With so many fresh goods to choose from at the market, we know it’s hard to choose just one favorite! Flowers and fresh fruit are the favorites in our Stevens Point office.
