Who’s ready for a three-day weekend? We sure are, and we hope you have fun plans lined up to say goodbye to summer! If not, don’t worry—we have the scoop on fun activities that you and your family can enjoy this Labor Day weekend.
The Central Wisconsin State Fair kicked off this past Wednesday and goes until Sunday. There is no way you CAN’T have fun at the fair with plenty of activities scheduled, not to mention a variety of musical guests include classic rock legends Styx and The Guess Who. The fair takes place just a short drive away in Marshfield; more information can be found on their Web site.
If you don’t want to drive to Marshfield to enjoy some great music, head to Stevens Point for the Riverfront Jazz Festival. This annual event takes place right along the Wisconsin River at Pfiffner Park. The Festival runs from Saturday to Sunday and will have jazz musicians as well as local food vendors. Alcohol will not be served at the festival but carry-ins are allowed. Watch this YouTube video to learn more about the Riverfront Jazz Festival!
Since this weekend is officially the last weekend of summer, why not start getting ready for fall? Head over to Waupaca for Oktoberfest TODAY under the tent and in the conference center at the Waupaca Ale House. Enjoy beer from Central Waters Brewery in Amherst, German food and music, and more! More information can be found here.
Looking for something unique to do? Check out Rumblefest at the Portage County Fairgrounds in Amherst on Saturday. There will be hot rods, a swap meet, a dunk tank, a roller derby, and more!
If you eat or drink too much over the weekend, head back to Stevens Point on Sunday for the Circuit de la Pizza, a group bike ride followed by pizza at Mickey’s.
You can find a list of events on Travel Wisconsin’s Web site. They even have an area where you can plan out trips in just a few minutes!
