Lead with the Stache Dash is an annual event to memorialize Justin Ross, a fallen hero, in a fun run style format. Justin Ross passed while serving his country in Afghanistan with the 428th Engineer Company. While serving in Afghanistan, Justin and his friends decided to grow mustaches—the only type facial hair that was allowed.
As a way to honor Cpl. Justin Ross, a memorial trail was developed at Mills Center Park in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The fun run is held at the Cpl. Justin Ross Memorial Trail and will be on Saturday, September 13th this year. Proceeds from this event will go to developing and beautifying trails and by giving to local veterans organizations. You can sign up for the Lead with the Stache Dash by going here.
Participants in the event are encouraged to wear a mustache of any sort. It can be plain, original, or hand-tossed.
Justin’s parents are clients at Community Insurance & Associates. We are happy to provide them with a special events policy to help cover the run. For more information on this event you can visit the Lead with the Stache Dash Facebook page or the website.
Remember, as a way to give back to the brave men and women that are currently serving in Afghanistan—Community Insurance will be collecting items to send to the 829th Engineer Company who recently deployed. We were informed on items that they miss while they are away from home and we have compiled a list. Items include: red vines, hand written cars, 3M products, beef jerky, Slim Jims, nuts, seasonal candy, fruit roll-ups, Gushers, and Pop Tarts.
