Each month we like to feature a local business that not only serves our community but is also a valued customer of ours. That is why during the month of April we will be featuring the Falcon One Stop in Amherst as our partner of the month. The Falcon One Stop is a convenience store that offers a wide variety of items. While you are filling up your gas tank you can browse their selection of rental movies, snacks, beverages, and they even have animal feed that is available for purchase.
Dave and Kris Crubaugh opened the Falcon One Stop in 2010 after falling in love with the Amherst community. They left their jobs in the Stevens Point area and purchased the Falcon One Stop which is located on the Mill Creek pond in Amherst. After two years at the Falcon One Stop, Kris and Dave sold their house in Stevens Point and moved to Amherst. The Falcon One Stop is now in its fourth year of business and they are doing very well.
In December of 2013, the Falcon One Stop began a new business venture. Along with the help from others—they held their first consignment sale. They opened the Co-Op Consignment Corner in an open space at the Falcon One Stop. People within the community are encouraged to bring in items that they would like to consign and the consignment sales are held one weekend a month. The April 2014 sale will be held from the 11th to the 13th.
The Falcon One Stop strives to make themselves a vibrant part of the Amherst community. Dave Crubaugh is the president of the Amherst Business Association and the Falcon One Stop is a member of the association. The Falcon One Stop also sponsors a local little league baseball team. During the summer months, you can visit the farmers market on Friday’s outside of the Falcon One Stop.
The Falcon One Stop is definitely a unique and worthwhile spectacle to visit in Amherst. Take the time to visit the Falcon One Stop next time you are in the Amherst area. Also, make sure you mark your calendars for the Co-Op Consignment Corner’s upcoming sale where you will find an assortment of one-of-a-kind items. Overall, the Falcon One Stop is the epitome of small-town charm. Farmers markets, consignment sales, movie rentals, food items, fuel, and many other items that you can pick up without leaving the comfort of this charming community.
