As we mentioned on Tuesday, we have recently partnered with the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point art department. This partnership will allow us to feature new student artists every couple months in a pop-up art gallery. The students will have the opportunity to send in their artwork and we will choose which artists will displau their artwork on the walls of our reception area at our office in Stevens Point.
Allen Schroeder, is one of the two artists who will have their artwork displayed in our pop-up gallery until October. Schroeder has several pieces hanging in our entryway. His landscape portraits are all for sale—feel free to come and check out his artwork and ask our receptionist about the prices.
Schroeder is influenced by his surroundings and all of the people he encounters in life. He also has a great love and appreciation for master artists from the renaissance and American illustrators from the turn of the twentieth century. The American illustrators, along with the master artists, have influenced his work and will continue to play a role in his future pieces.
In 2006, Schroeder created a public mural that is displayed in Rib Mountain at the Walmart. He also recently created another mural that is displayed at Anytime Fitness in Stevens Point. Several of his paintings have been held in private collections. Not only has he been a part of private collections, but also several shows at UW – Stevens Point. Additionally, his work has been shown in gallery spaces.
There is complexity and beauty in everything that Schroeder sees. His goal is to have others see his art the way he does. Mainly, how the color affects light and the causal shift from one shade to another. According to Schroeder, an artist is someone who can see something and then make something so everyone can see it as well. He feels he needs to present and share what he sees with others—so that they too can see the beauty in art.
