It’s that time of year again in Waupaca. The time to get out your mourning attire and good walking shoes so you can participate in the 14th Annual Irish Wake. The event begins on Main St. in Waupaca and is led by an assortment of musicians, wailers and others as they hop around downtown Waupaca.
This unique event will be held on Saturday, March 15th and is completely family-friendly. It will begin at one of our partner’s, Little Fat Gretchen’s at 7 p.m. The next stop will be Weasel’s at 8 p.m. Then Paca Pub at 8:45 pm. Finally, the last stop of the wake will be at T. Dubb’s at 9:15 p.m.
Every year, participants in the event have the opportunity to add the name of a deceased loved one to the Annual Honor Roll. Participants are also able to add a memory or thought to a coffin which allows you to give forgiveness and move on.
There will be live acoustic music playing during the entire night and at each of the stops. Everybody is encouraged to sing along with the music and are provided with song books.
If you will be in Waupaca this weekend, this event is not to be missed. You can visit the Waupaca County Art’s Board website to find out more information. Also, if you would like to add a name in advance to the Annual Honor Roll you can email info@waupacaarts.org.
