We have a Wisconsin January winter ahead of us. What better way to enjoy Central Wisconsin than to visit the little village of Amherst. Next weekend, the Lettie Jensen Community Center is hosting Garden Dreams. However, you have to be registered for this event by January 6th.
Saturday, January 10th, beginning at 7:30 am you will begin the day with Yard MD Rob Zimmer. He will be discussing how native plants can be used to attract birds and butterflies. He will also review the beautiful colors and natural beauty that the native plants provide every season.
After Rob, Megan Cain, who is the Creative Vegetable Gardener, will talk about the 10 mistakes of vegetable gardening. This will help you in your own garden as you prepare for the upcoming vegetable season. Megan will share the mistakes she has made in her own garden, as well as the mistakes she has heard from other gardeners. Hopefully, these helpful tips will help you from making the same mistakes in your garden.
After lunch, Rob will return to discuss creative garden art. He will provide inspiration and ideas that will be helpful in creating your own personal garden art. The use of recycled items and other visual ideas, will surprise you when you see what kind of beautiful garden art you can create.
Garden Dreams begins at 7:30 am and runs until 3:00 pm. The cost is $30 per person and includes a hot lunch.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
