It’s the beginning of 4th of July weekend in Stevens Point. This means it is time for one of the biggest community celebrations of the year. Riverfront Rendezvous kicks off tonight, July 3rd, at 5:00 pm. The Riverfront Rendezvous celebrates the holiday with fun for the entire family. There will be kid-friendly activities, live music, and plenty of good times.
On Thursday night, live music begins at 6:30 pm with Horseshoes & Hand Grenades. There will also be other bands throughout the night including Crossfire, The DC9 Dance Orchestra, and Lukas Nelson & P.O.T.R. The food tent will be open from 5:00 to 10:00 pm. Don’t miss out on all of the fun that’s in store for this evening.
If you can’t make it to Riverfront Rendezvous on Thursday evening, you still have a chance to join in on the fun on Friday and Saturday. The Carp Classic Fishing Contest begins on Friday, July 4th at 8:00 am. Following the fishing the contest, the parade will begin at noon in downtown Stevens Point. Live music will be playing all day, beginning at 1:30 pm. There will also be BINGO, Point Idol, and an interactive comedic magic performance. Get the full schedule with times here.
On Saturday, the festivities begin at noon with the emergency vehicle display on Crosby Avenue. There will also be BINGO, children’s activities, a poetry slam, and a lighted boat parade. Finally, at dusk there will be fireworks shot off over the river. Get there early to get a good spot.
Even though today is Thursday, many people will be enjoying the holiday tomorrow with the day off. That is why we are posting this week’s issue of the Weekend Beat a day early. Remember to check back with our blog every Friday to see what’s going on in Central Wisconsin over the weekend.
Have a safe and wonderful holiday weekend from all of us at Community Insurance & Associates.
