It’s the third Wednesday of the month, and that normally means we would be giving you a hunting or fishing tip. This week, however, we are going to recap last month’s tip and go over just how important proper preparation for a hunting trip can be.
Last month, our agent Dale shared with us that it is very important to have enough time to prepare for a hunting trip. Dale shared that it’s never too early to start preparing for a hunt and getting the necessary equipment is vital. Dale was preparing for a bear-hunting trip way back in August and stressed that it’s never too early to start getting organized for a hunting trip. He also told us about the importance of using scent-removing products and hanging hunting clothes outside prior to a hunting trip.
All of Dale’s preparations paid off, because he shot this 200 pound Black Bear during his hunting trip over the first week in September.
Dale went hunting in Bayfield County with Mike Foss of Northern Wisconsin Outfitters. Foss is an avid bear hunter and also a bear hunting guide who has helped many hunters to a successful hunt. You can find more information about Foss and Northern Wisconsin Outfitters on their Web site.
Remember that organization and preparation are key when it comes to hunting. Congratulations to Dale and best of luck to all hunters as we head into hunting season!
