According to the Appleton Post Crescent, the state of Wisconsin plans to market the state to prospective businesses to lure them to the state in turn producing more jobs. In the past the state hasn’t been marketed well to potential businesses looking to relocate to Wisconsin, but with a newly reorganized Wisconsin Economic Development Corp, things are changing.
Wisconsin is known for being home a strong manufacturing base, robust scientific community, knowledgeable and educated workforce, and being home to corporations such as Harley-Davidson, Kohl’s and Briggs & Stratton.
Gov. Walker’s pro-business platform should help the economic development and lure more businesses to the state. Paul Jadin who has been appointed the chief executive officer of the WEDC says, “The state has been bad at (marketing).” With a new budget of $1.5 million from the state and another $3.5 million from other sources, Jadin will be able to hire a staff economist and several others for research. Jadin plans on researching other states to see what has brought business there instead of Wisconsin.
With the new changes, the potential for new businesses to move operations or start in the state will hopefully increase! At Community Insurance, not only will we welcome these businesses to the state, we will strive to provide them with comprehensive Wisconsin business insurance.
Companies new to the area may not have a full understanding of the coverage required and needed in Wisconsin and we will be happy to assist and educate them in every way we can.
