Born in the Amherst area and raised in Wisconsin Rapids, I have always had a deep appreciation for small-town living. There is something special about knowing your neighbors, serving familiar faces, and raising a family surrounded by community.
After competing in collegiate golf at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and earning my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, I returned home to learn the insurance business and the art of sales from my father, Phil(retired after 54 years in insurance!). I joined Community Insurance in 2008, earned my Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 2015, and became a partner in the agency that same year.
Community involvement has always been important to me. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the International Bank of Amherst and have previously served on the boards of the Amherst PTO, the Image Group of Wisconsin, and the Stevens Point Country Club. I have also been actively involved with the Portage County Business Council and the Golden Sands Home Builders Association, and previously co-chaired the United Way of Portage County campaign, which raised over $3 million.
In 2016, I founded Robert’s Rendezvous in memory of my brother, Robert, who passed away from mesothelioma. The annual event has raised more than $50,000 for local scholarships and community grants, and I have had the opportunity to advocate in Washington, D.C. for the ban of asbestos in his honor. Giving back to the community that supported my family during a difficult time remains a top priority.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling—especially anywhere warm where I can play golf—discovering new restaurants, and cooking and baking for family and friends. My husband, Justin, and I are proud parents of four children. Family business is strong in our home, as Justin leads his family’s company, Blenker Companies-50+ years of building custom homes.
